Oriental Bay Residence
Engineered to ensure structural integrity and able to withstand the significant wind loadings post-encapsulation, the design of this Oriental Bay Residence project was complex.
Design team
With the assistance of the Layher scaffold design team, bespoke brackets were manufactured and used in conjunction with the Layher U head base plates to provide the main anchor ties. Approximately 9 metric tons of Layher Allround scaffold was used on the project, which was largely constructed using 2.07m and 2.57m bay sizes.
Bracing
Wedge swivel couplers linked with scaffold tubes provided the perimeter bracing and attachment area for the shrink wrap. Additional .73 diagonals provided dog leg bracing with 2.5m and 3.0m diagonals providing sway bracing.
40% faster
With the scaffold construction time being around 40% faster than they had provisioned, the feedback from the client was excellent. Furthermore this positive feedback was supported by the ability to easily reconfigure access and working platform heights during the construction stage.
