Quay Street SpeedyScaf
Upright Access Systems were contracted to provide access for a repainting job on Auckland’s Quay Street. For this large repainting job, Upright Access Systems used Layher’s efficient SpeedyScaf scaffolding system.
Increase productivity
In addition to SpeedyScaf, the scaffolders utilised a Layher 200 (GEDA 200 Z) materials hoist, which increase productivity. Plus, Layher’s advance guardrail system was used to assist in the safe building of the scaffold.
Material hoist
The Quay Street scaffold measured over 40m high and it was the first time the crews had this material hoist and advance guardrail system. However, this did not slow down installation. In fact, assembly time was reduced, due to the efficiencies gained in using the GEDA and Layher products.
Upright Access Systems Mick Curran said “The main challenge on the Quay Street project was getting access to the site. Like much of central Auckland, many roads are coned off and have reduced or limited access.”
Hoist saved time
“Once the SpeedyScaf gear was placed onto the loading platforms, it was quickly lifted into place and assembled using the GEDA 200 hoist. The hoist saved us a huge amount of time during installation and dismantling.” said Mick.
The painters were delighted with the excellent access they had been provided by Upright Access Systems.
