Puhinui Interchange Propping
TPL Access were engaged to provide propping at Puhinui Station in Auckland. Puhinui Station is being upgraded to become a major bus and train interchange. The propping, using Layher Allround Scaffolding, was installed beneath the concrete bridge structures that make up the supports and platforms.

Propping tonnes of concrete
Designed to support 15 tonne per lineal meter, the propping, by the time of the final pour, will hold around 1,900 tonnes of in-situ concrete. In total the site used about 70 tonnes of scaffolding.
Nick McMaster from TPL Access said “Layher Allround scaffolding was used because the client needed a fast and reliable solution that could be installed and removed without any machinery.”
“Working in a live rail corridor meant the scaffold needed safe work platforms installed off the propping and the Layher Allround Scaffolding system was perfect for the job” said Nick.
Thank you to Nick McMaster of TPL Access for these photos.
