Eden Park LED Screen Platform

Upright Access Systems were called upon to provide scaffold access for a new LED screen at Eden Park, Auckland. Installing the largest LED screen in New Zealand, and second largest in the Southern Hemisphere, required a very large landing platform.

Eden Park’s new LED display, known as the ‘Superscreen’ measures a whopping 31m by 11m. Manufactured by Samsung the $1.4 million state-of-the-art mega screen has panels which allows dynamic and customised messaging.

Landing platform

Measuring 50m long by 9m by 5m high, the landing platform gave contractors excellent access to install the LED screen. Upright Access Systems’ Mick Curran said “we used Layher U-lattice beams to reduce the amount of support scaffold, and for ease of installing the decks. This significantly reduced the build time.”

“During the landing platform dismantle, we had 7 men working over two days to remove all our gear from Eden Park Stadium” said Mick.

Layher’s Engineering team assisted Upright Access Systems in the planning and design stages of the Eden Park screen installation project.
