The Beast – scaffolding a superyacht

Scafit have taken on ‘The Beast‘ – a superyacht built at the Foxton Marina near Palmerston North.
David Crowley, Scafit explains “we were contacted by Profab Engineering to provide a temporary enclosure for a large boat being painted at the local marina.”

Simplicity and stength

The boat measures 40 metres by 20 metres and reaches a height of 15 metres and was scaffolded using Layher Allround. “We only use Allround, because we need simplicity, strength and a quick turnaround. This project was unscheduled and needed to be completed urgently as the launch date couldn’t be changed around the king tide”, said David.

David continued “we received praise for supplying a quality solution and service under real time pressure. We also needed to attach to the boat, which was in the final stages of fit out. All care and attention was taken by the Scafit team to ensure the high spec details were not impacted at all.”
