Auckland High-rise Rubbish Chutes

Highgate Towers, located in the central Auckland inner city suburb of Freemans Bay, has undergone remedial work with the help of South Pacific Scaffolding using GEDA Rubbish Chutes.

Rubbish Chutes are built strong

Jarrod Radcliffe of South Pacific Scaffolding said “GEDA Rubbish Chutes are built strong and are easily installed on almost any scaffold. Using chute openings allows you to use them from multiple levels.

Sold by Layher New Zealand, we know we can trust this product when our clients are dropping material from up to 40m.”

Auckland scaffolding construction

This was South Pacific Scaffolding’s first project for Firma Construction. “We built the project in four stages, with the following stage to be completed before works had been completed on the last, allowing a continuous run for the construction company” said Jarrod.

Less gear needed

Jarrod continued “The scope of remedial work was to the side of the balconies and removal of large polystyrene cornices just below the parapet. Bridging sections between the balconies saved us a significant amount of gear turning a 4000m² project to around 3000 m².”

The Layher Allround Scaffold was assembled by just three guys using a Gin Wheel, each stage was capable of supporting a 45m rubbish chute.
