Nautilus and the GEDA Hoists

Vertical access was not a problem for contractors on the Nautilus renovation project. Upright Access Systems supplied three GEDA hoists on the apartment block in Orewa on the Hibicus Coast, north of Auckland. Why so many hoists?

Scaffold hoists

Mick Curran, Upright Access Systems explains “this was a large renovation project with tight deadlines. The entire apartment block had been vacated whilst the necessary renovation work took place, which allowed contractors free rein to meet a fixed deadline. We installed one GEDA 1200 and two twin mast GEDA 1500 hoists. The supporting scaffold was 1.4 metres wide and 30m high off the podium. Being close to the shore high winds did cause some minor delays, as the hoists cannot be installed once the winds exceed 70km/h.“
