Scaffolding Queens Square
Queens Square on Queen Street, Auckland’s Golden Mile, is one of New Zealand’s premier apartment buildings. Constructed in 2017, the 16 storey development sits in the heart of Auckland’s CBD, comprising of four buildings with a square in the middle.
Upright Access Systems were contracted to scaffold the entire perimeter of Building D, providing access for the installation of new cladding. The scaffold measured 40m long and 48m high down the one-way side street and then it followed the building around to the inside of the square.
Upright Access Systems’ Director, Mick Curran said “the client specified 3m lifts for this scaffold as the cladding was being lifted into place by crane.”
Fast and efficient
“Unlike Layher Allround Scaffolding, which was fast and efficient to use, delivering gear to the site was initially difficult and slow due to a one-way street system that was open all the time” said Mick.
Ultimately the client was very happy with the job and appreciated the convenient access that Upright Access Systems had provided.
