Goeltzsch Valley Bridge
A gigantic Layher scaffolding adorns the much frequented Goeltzsch valley railway bridge in Germany. At a height of 78 metres, the 574 metres long bridge, with four rows of arches, has spanned the tributary to the White Elster river since 1851.

The assembly of the 18,000 square metres of scaffolding was founded on projections of the pillars. However, as in the area of the abutments there was no solid ground, the scaffolders used steel beams which they placed on Allround heavy-duty supports. Four Allround standards were bundled by means of twin wedge couplers and combined into this heavy-duty support - a very efficient solution thanks to standard parts.

Layher Allround was the preferred system not only for its high load capacity, but also because it could be assembled according to a tight schedule - thanks to material-saving and quick assembly as well as highly efficient logistics.

Thank you to Layher Germany for the use of these photos.
