Lothway TBS was contracted by RTA to remove lead-based paint from the Tom Ugly's Bridge - a Sydney landmark to the south of the city. Lothway TBS proposed 6 mobile scaffolds and together with Layher's design team came up with a monorail mounted solution.
The scaffold platforms were connected to two under slung monorails by way of 5kN trolleys, and the onboard stair access tower was also mounted on castors. The resulting scaffold was easily moved by two men. Contaminated water from the waterblasting was collected in a rubber lining and pumped to a barge for treatment onshore.
Thank you to Lothway TBS for the use of these photos.
